Join us for a fundraising dinner to raise money to support a Syrian family starting a new life in Bracebridge and Ukrainian children dealing with the physical and emotional trauma of war.
At the dinner, you will be treated to a delicious traditional Syrian and Ukrainian buffet prepared by the culinary classes at BMLSS. Leading up to the event, the students will learn how to prepare these Syrian and Ukrainian dishes from local Syrian Chef, Berivan Alali of Flavours of Soul and Chef Aleksandr Soloviov, a newcomer from Parry Sound who fled the war in Ukraine.
While you enjoy these dishes, the BMLSS Student Band will play peace-themed music for your enjoyment.
After the dinner, speaker Linda Brouillette, will share local stories of hope through the Rotary Cares program. This will be followed by our guest speaker Katie Fettes, a Rotary Global Grant Scholar, who focuses on Conflict, Security and Development. She will share a message that is grounded in the realities of insecurity and conflict today, acknowledges the moment, and encourages action from citizens in small and/or big ways.

Good News; Bracebridge Rotarian Steve Rockwell was the winner of the Zorbing competition (bubble wrestling) at Rotary Zone 28 Meeting in October that raised $103,000.
Bad News; Even though Steve belongs to our Club, he played for a Club from Michigan!!
A team of 14 Rotarians from District 7010 went to Zone and participated in "Learning to Lead" and to bring back the best practices to empower our clubs.
